Act 9, Vermont Legislature Workforce Training Initiative
“For Vermonters* whose employability or employer has been impacted by the Coronavirus since March of 2020, the sum of $3,000,000.00 is appropriated from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 - Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund to the Vermont State Colleges to provide up to two free classes in the summer or fall of 2021 and spring 2022 at any of the Vermont State Colleges for any Vermont resident who is seeking to transition to a new career or to enhance the resident’s job skills.”
The funds awarded pursuant to this subdivision are to:
- Offer courses and workshops to upskill affected Vermonters in their current industry or reskill Vermonters who desire a change in their career path for more economic stability.
- Provide for necessary school supplies, wrap-around services, marketing of the program, and support staff.
* Students must qualify for in-state status based on Vermont State Colleges System Policy 301.
